Booking accommodations for trips can be quite tricky. I, for one, like staying in hotels that have the best location, fantastic service and is aesthetically pleasing. Traveling nonstop for two weeks, however, made me realize I miss having the comforts of home. So imagine my surprise when I found Lanson Place Bukit Ceylon. It had everything I was looking for plus more! I love that it has the convenience of a luxury hotel but at the same time having the comfort and privacy of a home. The best part, you don’t have to shell thousands of dollars to stay here!
Location
Lanson Place is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle. From the airport, it took us about 45-50 minutes before finally arriving at the serviced apartments. Although it is in a tranquil area in Bukit Ceylon, shopping malls and restaurants are easily accessible. What I like about its location is that it is central to most of the attractions we wanted to see, which made it easier for us to get around.
- Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve – 4 min
- KL Tower – 6 min
- Petronas Twin Towers – 8 min
- Chinatown – 6 min
- Thean Hou Temple – 11 min
- Batu Caves – 17 min
Service
We arrived pretty late after spending almost 2 hours at immigration and customs. Thankfully, the front desk staff were very accommodating and made our check-in easy and fast. One thing that always stands out to me when I stay at hotels is the service. You can be a 5 star property but if your staff isn’t friendly or accommodating then having all those awards don’t mean much. Everyone we encountered during our stay in Lanson Place were very nice and helpful. That speaks volumes to me as a guest.
Two Bedroom Residence
We stayed in the 2-bedroom residence. Walking in, I was immediately impressed by how spacious it was. The living room, adjacent to the dining room, had the perfect space for entertainment. On our first night, we ordered takeout and just lounged on the huge couch, admiring the city lights from our window. The eat-in kitchen was huge and had all the amenities you need to prepare a meal. It came with an electric stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and oven.
Around the corner from the kitchen was a laundry room with a washer and dryer that were very useful after traveling for almost 2 weeks. The bedrooms were equally spacious and the bathrooms were really nice! My favorite is the rainfall shower and the large bathtub. Talk about bathroom goals!

Breakfast
One of the perks of staying in Lanson Place is the complimentary breakfast buffet located at the 48th floor. How amazing it was to see the KL Tower and Petronas Twin Towers while enjoying our food. The spread had a variety of baked goods, a healthy assortment of fresh fruits and salad, eggs, beans, sausages plus more! They even have a fancy coffee machine that serves, cappuccino and espresso. Pretty cool no?
Amenities
Some of the amenities included in our stay were: lounge area complete with iMac stations, a pool table (perfect if you’re staying in on a rainy day), an olympic sized swimming pool, fully equipped gym, children’s playground, clubhouse, rooftop bbq grill and complimentary cookies in the lounge in the afternoon.
Although we only had two nights in Lanson Place, I can honestly say that it’s one of my favorite hotels in Asia. If you find yourself in Kuala Lumpur, make sure you check out this one of a kind property in the heart of the city. You won’t regret it!
